Everyday Numbers

What is it?

This introductory course is perfect for learners who are new to basic maths or those who may have lower confidence with numbers. It’s designed to be accessible, especially for individuals with low levels of English.

The class will be learner led, with learners informing the teacher of what they would like to focus on.

What day and time?

Wednesday, 10am - 12pm

Who is it for?

For beginner ESOL learners who want to build their confidence in recognising and using numbers in their everyday lives.

These classes are for adult women who don't feel confident using numeracy, particularly in English, who want to learn in a supportive and encouraging environment.

What is covered?

  • Recognising, saying, and writing numbers
  • Reading bank statements
  • Understanding money
  • Percentages or special offers in shopping sales
  • Budgeting and understanding bills
  • Measurements, such as for recipes
