Volunteer Skills Award (VSA)

Who is it for?

If you are keen to share your skills and experience, make friends and become part of a vibrant community, then the Volunteer Skills Award is the course for you.

What is covered?

This is an SQA accredited course that allows you to gain a qualification while carrying out a volunteering role.

The course involves: learning about volunteer organisations, carrying out a self-assessment of your skills and abilities, undertaking a number of hours volunteering at DIWC, keeping a log book of your activities, and carrying out a small project.

What can I gain?

An award in volunteering skills, SCQF Level 3, 4 or 5, and work experience as a volunteer at DIWC.

When are the classes?

This course is not currently available.
If you would like to know more about this course please email reception@diwc.co.uk to register your interest. You will be then contacted with any information regarding the return of this qualification.

What do our learners say?

I like the class because it is informal and relaxed. Taking notes in class and looking up further info at home is better as it can be done at my own pace. The teacher is also good and patient which gives the class a good atmosphere. The small class size is also good.
